Ready to Try Something Different?
I’m so glad you found your way here! The you that’s just going about your day and looking for hope and healing- seeking God and seeking grace. I totally get it. I hope these lists serve you well.
We’re all trying to heal in this messy, busy world that says we have to do it better, faster, stronger. We’re bombarded with lists and plans: 5 ways to get closer to God, 3 strategies to organize your schedule, a new list to get your life in order. It’s overwhelming, isn’t it?
Research shows that toxic stress and trauma deeply impact our daily lives in ways we are both aware and unaware of. But research also shows us that when we’re mindful, or when we practice a non-judgmental awareness of our experiences, it can lead to greater emotional regulation and self-compassion. Makes sense, right? The more intentional we are about noticing who God is and what He has given us in the present moment, the better we feel. Noticing the things we’re already doing to connect with God and those we love gives us the ability to just be.
Mindfulness is a big word that just means slowing down and noticing. I hope you’ll print these out and take a few minutes each day to write down a few things you notice along with me. How were you present today? What makes you feel healthy and safe? What parts of you need compassion today? When did you feel the kindness of God today? You can start by choosing one to tape in your journal or on the fridge and writing down what you begin to notice.
By taking just a few minutes to mindfully write down what is already happening in our lives, I hope that we can begin to notice a God who surrounds us and a Father who already adores us just as we are. Enter your email below to receive the lists along with regular weekly encouragement.
